This compact, high-output GN462 flash unit offers a level of precision and camera communication only available from Sony, delivering reliable flash during high-speed burst shooting and synchronized at shutter speeds up to 1/400 second. Excellent durability, through the camera's intuitive operation, flexible jump angle adjustment and wireless communication, it makes the control more precise and versatile.

Simultaneous improvements to the α lighting system and α camera body provide creators with the best lighting for a wide range of applications. The high level of integration that only original Sony products can provide, in every detail, works with compatible camera bodies to deliver reliable and precise light control.

The HVL-F46RM was designed by Sony so it can be used with α camera bodies to provide stable GN46 light output to meet professional lighting needs. Supports focal lengths from 24 mm (15 mm for wide-angle diffuser) to 105 mm.

When used with a compatible camera, white balance is automatically adjusted so that natural colors appear on your subject's face. The HVL-F46RM works with the face detection function of compatible cameras 4 to provide the ideal light source for the main subject, even if the subject is in a group of people.

Thanks to its internal design, this advanced flash unit transmits color temperature data to the camera for precise white balance adjustment for natural-looking colors in any situation.
